No, it's trash. Once I realized it was trash, I was able to acclimatize and be entertained. And I'm always going to be happy about low budget successes, no matter how iffy they are. But those I've heard saying this is Oscar worthy movie making are insane.

I’ve avoided spoilers obviously, but I was surprised when I heard that they were pushing the film for a “Comedy/Musical” award at the Golden Globes.  And then I saw Rock’s review about how funny it was.  I was a little confused.  Just checking in.

I think the only one of that list I definitely haven't seen is The Ghoul. So I should probably get on that. Well, after Hospital Massacre (X-Ray) of course. First things first.

Re: All The Shrimps Be Haunted

The 50s

(note:  Obviously this is the era of the sci-fi/horror mash-ups, and, although I included a fair share of the best of these, I mostly chose to set them aside, along with most of the “monster and bride” type schlock which stands as its own fertile subgenre these days.  Also….long-standing issue….I do not recognize the awesome parable, Night of the Hunter, as horror, as such, but rather a dark and intense psychological drama.  I have to note that Cape Fear is not listed as “horror” either.)

Godzilla
Invaders of the Body Snatchers
The Thing From Another World
Night of the Demon
Bride of the Monster
A Bucket of Blood
Dementia
Invaders From Mars
Horror of Dracula
La Bruja
I Vampiri
The Curse of Frankenstein
Les Diaboliques
The Undead
Caltiki
The Ghost of Yatsuya (both Nakagawa and Misumi films)
The House on Haunted Hill
The Mummy
20 Million Miles To Earth/Beast of 20000 Fathoms
House of Wax
Them!
It!
Corridors of Blood
Four Skulls of Jonathan Drake
Gog
Blood of Dracula
Black Cat Mansion
The Black Sleep
The Maze
The Creature From the Black Lagoon

A lot of people don't realize what's really going on. They view life as a bunch of unconnected incidents and things. They don't realize that there's this lattice of coincidence that lays on top of everything. Give you an example; show you what I mean: suppose you're thinking about a plate of shrimp. Suddenly someone'll say, like, plate, or shrimp, or plate o' shrimp out of the blue, no explanation. No point in looking for one, either. It's all part of a cosmic unconciousness.

Everybody's into weirdness right here.
