As far as Zorn goes, I'm not an every (a safe bet with most musical matters), but I quite like The Big Sundown, his Ennio Morricone tribute album.

I am not above abusing mod powers for my own amusement.

That Dexys Midnight Runners track really builds into geysers, doesn’t it! Sick goddam horns, seriously, holy fuck.

I love the whole record. That song is its apex, but nearly every track pushes passed the limit. It's unafraid to be impassioned to the point of no return. The whole album is a hot blast of those horns and the ugliest bleat of a voice singing the most embarrassingly desperate lyrics. It's very close to an all time favorite.

I'm going to have to pull out that 1980 Burning Spear show I grabbed recently.

Oh that was a fun listen.

I don't want to flog any horses but one thing that's easy to forget when describing Bungle is just how funny they are. Their stuff is permeated with comic levity. Despite their staggering talent and Patton's notorious perfectionism, they rarely come across as taking themselves too seriously.

Hell yeah, bust that shit out!  Got any Black Uhuru?

Well, I don't know if I'm the only one into this kind of stuff and it's definitely a departure from the preceding numbers, but since I had it cranked to eleven while driving today I'll just throw it into the pot:
Witchburn are from Seattle, they always sweat out a great show, and vocalist Jamie Nova has a serious set of pipes. Also they gave me a pot brownie once. I was torn between posting the studio cut of this song or a live recording. I'm going with live because I found one with decent sound, it's more fun than watching an album cover, and it showcases just how powerful Nova's voice is. The song is Bleed the Stone from the album This is How We Slay our Demons.

Believe?  In the comeback or any Dino Jr.?  Out of their whole deal, I'd say Green Mind is a great start.

I doubted the come back.

I love Dinosaur Jr as much as any band I can think of. But didn't even fret about them reuniting. I generally don't pay attention to those kinds of things and this was no difference.

But then I randomlly gave it a shot. And now I fucking love this album.

I've never owned Green Mind. Even back in the day when I had a bunch of Dino Jr. dubbed cassettes. That one was the mystery. And because of those posts, I almost spent 70 dollars on a reissue I came across today. But I came to my senses, and spent 200 plus dollars elsewhere.

Also vetoed a 60 dollar Imperial Wax Solvent. But that was a narrow escape.
